Good afternoon all . I have an Espace of the 4th series dating from 2004. Unfortunately, the one keycard that worked properly has been lost {and the other shows error messages and will not lock the car|} According to my local Renault dealer, they no longer make replacement 3- button cards for cars more than 20 years old. Does anyone have a smart solution? Or a three button card for a 4th series that is surplus to requirements and which I can have re-programmed? Thanks in advance

I’ll have to check if I still have any spare cards. Alternatively, I can have your card repaired by a friend of mine.
If your card hasn’t been opened yet, that’s important—it makes it easier for him to find the fault since no one has tampered with it.
Forget about Renault in Germany. You might have better luck with Renault in France or possibly in Eastern Europe. Here in Germany, there are only a handful of Renault dealers who are even willing to order these cards anymore—and only with prepayment. Then you still have to pay for programming, VAT, and you’re looking at €500 to €700 total. Honestly, it’s just not worth it.
That’s why I’ll check if I still have one available. If not, we’ll send your card to my friend. The repair, including a new case, shipping, and labor, costs a maximum of €120.
Best regards, Kalle
